10 Things That I love

Board Games:

I love board games and was quite surprised to find that just beyond Monopoly and Jenga there is an extremely diverse and exciting industry creating board games of all kinds. This one is called Notre Dame. I love it because it melts your brain as your play, but just a little bit.

35mm Film Cameras:

The Pentax K1000 was my second 35mm camera purchase (pictured here is a far nicer one than mine) and is one of my loves. The look of shooting on film is unique and beautiful, and this camera requires you to be intentional in your settings or you'll get garbage. I love that unforgiving challenge and the solid feel of this camera.

The Office:

The Office was one of the shows that influenced me to pursue media. I loved the family development within this office and always wanted to have that kind of loving and exciting experience for myself. This was the first series that I watched in its entirety.

Convertibles:

I don't know hardly anything about cars, but I still love the power behind a fast car and how cool it makes you look when you're in a convertible. The way that convertibles keep you involved with the world that you're driving through is fascinating and beautiful to me.

Zombies:

Perhaps cliché, I love zombie media. When I first watched The Walking Dead I was engrossed by the questions that the zombie apocalypse posed about the nature of humanity and morality. Not to mention there are nearly always awesome practical effects involved in a good zombie narrative.

My Wife:

My wife laura had to make this list because she brings so much light into my life. I love her smile, the way that she encourages me to work and think, and really everything about her. She keeps me going and prevents me from doing any too stupid. She is my rock and my closest friend. I love her. We met at work as we both were attending University and I was smitten immediately. After some slight encouragement she agreed to go out with me and from that first date I knew that she was something special. Since then we have spent the last two years growing closer together and deeper in love.

Pasta:

Pasta is a god tier food. It has ascended from its status as a mere grain to become the life blood of my diet. As I grew up my Father made pasta for our family from whatever we had. He showed me how to create delicious food without a lot of money, and just how inexpensive it is to make a high class pasta dish that can be eaten all week.

The John Wick Trilogy:

I love the action, explosions, and overall aesthetic of the John Wick trilogy. Dark, gritty crime films hold a special place in my heart because they open a safe door for me to experience an aspect of life that I will never get to be a part of. In addition, the ridiculousness of John Wick's experience keeps me surprisingly interested in his long term progression as a character.

Rainbow 6 Seige:

This video game just makes me happy. I've spent over 350 hours playing this game over the years and it hits the right combination of difficulty and teamwork without requiring you to rely on your friends to win. This is a pass time of mine that gives me that chance to spend time with friends that I couldn't see otherwise.

Johnny Cash:

Johnny Cash's America albums really spoke to me when I heard them. I love the way that he takes well known songs and breathes his own experience into them. He makes these songs his own in the way that I want to be able to make a script my own.

Ah, The Office! My friends and I can quote The Office to our dying days. Also, dude you are so awesome for including your wife in this. Relationship goals!

Board games are this universe I am scared of getting too close at because I will become obsessed and spend ridiculous amounts of money and time with them so I praise you for being stronger than me.

"Pasta is a god tier food" True. "they open a safe door for me to experience an aspect of life that I will never get to be a part of" Sounds like a touch of regret in there, I'm a little concerned... But then Cash, man! Not many people compare to him. Perhaps Springsteen? He's a true story teller. Loved reading these!

Pasta is also a staple in my life. Also I think my roommate started cutting onions while I was reading that part about your wife. He denies it though...
